“There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.”
Proverbs 14:12
My name is Nehuen, I am 11 years old and I am from the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
My encounter with God was on the first day of Awana. I had arrived almost at the end, it was about to finish, but at that moment I felt the embrace of the Father that broke me.
They would tell us Bible stories, like those of Daniel and Job, and I really liked that. I believed everything they said, and that’s where God spoke to me many times. It was like being able to know Him and see His power—the power He has and with which He can take care of us at all times, because He will always be with us.
Now I’ve been coming to the meetings more often, and it feels like I can sense His presence more. When the pastor teaches, I can understand what she means, and that guides me. Sometimes, when I go to the children’s service, they tell a story that I already know because I read it in the Bible, and then I feel encouraged to raise my hand and share it.
Awana also helped me to lose my shyness and to want to go to the front, whether to say a verse or something like that.
What I like most about Jesus is that He gave His life for us. That is something so great that it’s hard to express, because saying “thank you” feels too little compared to such immense love. Every word He says is important, and everything He did for us was very, very great.
