“For everything comes from Him and exists by His power and is intended for His glory. All glory to Him forever! Amen.” – Romans 11:36 (NLT)
Update from Central America:
We thank God for everything He’s done in Central America over the past quarter. As Romans reminds us, everything comes from Him and is for His glory. With this same spirit, we celebrate the progress the Lord has made through our ministry.
In Guatemala, we’ve reconnected with individuals who were previously involved with Awana and are now renewing their commitment to child discipleship. We’ve also reached out to new churches that weren’t previously aware of our network.
In Nicaragua, the ministry continues to grow. It’s been a blessing to connect with new organizations and churches interested in using our materials to disciple children and youth. In March, we trained leaders from over 40 Assemblies of God churches, many of which are now preparing to launch Awana’s “Descúbrelo” program. We also hosted two child and youth discipleship forums across the region, and this May, we’re planning more training sessions for “Descúbrelo” and Youth Connection, where we hope to welcome at least 20 new churches.
In March, we also participated in the Latin American Disciplers Summit, where we built valuable relationships with leaders, especially from Costa Rica. Although our presence in Costa Rica is still small, we’re hopeful about building new networks. From May 22 to 27, we’ll be in Guatemala for an in-person training and to meet with potential strategic partners who could help expand our reach. We still have a gap of about 100 churches to meet our goal of 638 churches across the region. But we trust that with the upcoming trainings, and by God’s faithfulness, we’ll either close that gap or come very close by the end of this fiscal year.
